FEBRUARY 17th – SATURDAY
MODERN CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP
What is it? Modern calligraphy is different from traditional and historic pen written calligraphy. It is like copper plate script but with a contemporary twist. It has a loose, free style (which many find easier to learn). All materials provided.
Tutor: Maureen Hallahan (professional calligrapher).

PAINTING ON VELLUM
Vellum is a centuries old material used for longevity (cow skin) a by product that is washed and scraped to a very smooth surface watercolours are used and this produces a rich luminous look to the painting. Never tried it? Have a go!
APRIL 13TH – FRIDAY
AN INTRODUCTION TO BOTANICAL ART FOR BEGINNERS
Learn the basics of drawing and painting understanding the many techniques to create a small botanical illustration free paint book to all students. Michael will put you on the right track.
MAY 3rd – FRIDAY
MAKING A BOTANICAL OR ANIMAL IMAGE BY USING STIPPLING METHOD
Using Fineliner pens. The end result makes a stunning portrait.
JUNE 14th & 15th – FRIDAY & SATURDAY
DRAWING AND PAINTING BRITISH BIRDS
Learn to draw and paint birds from the original photos or computer. Understanding feather direction, the correct way of painting eyes, feet and the difficult parts of bird painting. Feathers & pics etc. provided.
JULY 12th & 13th – FRIDAY
PAINTING BEES, BEATLES & BUTTERFLIES IN WATERCOLOUR
Vellum or paper.
AUGUST 30TH – FRIDAY
ILLUSTRATING FRUITS FROM THE ORCHARD
Apples, pears, plums and more. Learn to understand form, texture and tone including stems and leaves.
OCTOBER 11TH & 12TH – FRIDAY & SATURDAY
PAINTING THE BOUNTY OF AUTUMN
From hedgerow, fields, forests, horse chestnut sweet chestnut, hazel, acorn, fungi and more.
DECEMBER 13th & 14th – FRIDAY & SATURDAY
THE WORLD OF DECAY
Many plants that are in decay make beautiful and interesting paintings showing many autumn colours.

MAKING A TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS WREATH/DOOR DECORATION

Deposit £30.00 for two day courses
£20.00 for a one day course
Full amount for morning and afternoon
One to one days can be arranged at £175.00 per day, deposit £50.00.
Please note:
Only a deposit or the full amount with the booking form will reserve a place on any course or class. A £10.00 deposit will reserve a place on each of the classes [not courses] throughout the year.
